Google: still the dominant force in internet search

googleThe search engine giant Google continues to impress with a remarkable 67.3% share of the month of December online searches.
Google was used for search purposes a stunning 6.69 billion times out of the  total number of searches which reached  9.94 billion. The closest competitor was Yahoo! with 14.4% of the market which translates to 1.43 billion searches and in third came Microsoft’s Bing with 9.9% translating to 986 million queries.
The figures are notable because the much-hyped Bing dropped from 10.7% share of the market which it obtained in November while Google was at 65.4% in November which implies the search engine king improved by about 2% which is significant. Google’s main competitor Yahoo! also dropped from 15.3% in November to the December figure of 14.4% as mentioned above.
